The Svan High Chair's design benefits are particularly strong when used by a small child. The key features being the design of the seat, safety guard and tray.

Svan Tray:



The detachable tray enables the child to be seated anywhere to eat or play. The tray's lip keeps food and activities within reach, while the flat back edge of the tray makes it easy to clean. The tray easily snaps on and off and can be stored hanging off the safety guard.



Safety Guard:

Small Children need support to sit balanced and upright. The Svan Chair was designed so that the seat space provides optimal support for small children as they are developing upper body strength. This was accomplished through two unique design factors - a seat that can be easily adjusted in and out with a safety guard that can be fitted close to the child. Older children up to four years of age also can use the safety guard, providing additional safety for active kids.



The design of the safety guard provides unique support and safety. The high sides effectively prevent the child from sliding out of the seat by putting the legs together and slipping through a leg opening. The harness and safety guard together help prevent a child from standing up on the seat - a common and dangerous problem with many chairs. Unlike most other chairs, the L-shaped crotch bar effectively prevents the child from twisting and turning. In the Svan High Chair, the child's attention is directed forward making it a wonderful chair for focusing on activities or participating in the family meal.

In order to facilitate the lifting of the child in and out of the chair, the safety guard is designed to easily slide in and out. The position of the guard is adjusted with a wheel knob under the seat, which can be loosened and tightened with one hand. The guard is secured with a safety bolt so it will not become detached.
